Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo cut the ribbon on the new five-acre Animals of the Savanna expansion at the Seneca Park Zoo. The brand new Animals of the Savanna Exhibit now features Masai giraffes, zebras, ostriches, the Zoo’s southern white rhino, and over a dozen other species.

Dinolfo Announces County's Historic Dentzel Carousel is Repaired and Re-Opened to Public

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the historic Dentzel Menagerie Carousel at Ontario Beach Park in Charlotte is repaired and now open to the public for a compressed 2018 Season. The 113-year old carousel has been out of commission since July 26, 2017 due to the failure of an important original mechanical component of the ride. The carousel has operated every year at the park, its original location, since it first opened in 1905.

Dinolfo Announces Funding for Opioid Detox Beds

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced $1 million in new funding for short-term, in-patient treatment beds. The funding, which comes through a grant from the New York State Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS), will be used to create 15 new beds to treat opioid withdrawal and treatment.

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced the selection of the first house to be renovated under Make Monroe Home, the County’s program to transform ‘zombie’ properties into affordable, livable and energy efficient homes for local families. The house is located at 4611 Mt. Read Boulevard in the Town of Greece. It has been vacant for over two years, has been foreclosed upon by the County, and has failed to attract a private buyer at foreclosure auctions.
