Dinolfo, Robach Announce Funding to Build Warriors of Freedom Memorial in Highland Park

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and New York State Senator Joe Robach joined the Warriors of Freedom Memorial Committee, local elected officials and representatives from the veterans community to announce that the committee met its fundraising goal. This milestone will soon bring the Warriors of Freedom Memorial to fruition in Monroe County’s Highland Park. The project is set to break ground in 2019.

Dinolfo Announces ROC Airport Receives Honorable Mention for Coveted Award

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) was honored in Buffalo at the 52nd Northeast Chapter (NEC) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) International Aviation Snow Symposium. ROC received an Honorable Mention for small commercial airports for the Balchen/Post Award in recognition of the airport’s outstanding performance in snow and ice control.

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo was joined by members of the Monroe County Parks Department, Cornell Cooperative Extension, the Parks Advisory Committee, and Barton & Loguidice to cut the ribbon on the new Lilac Adventure Zone located in Highland Park. The new Lilac Adventure Zone features an ADA accessible lilac grove, new green parking lot improvements, casual-use picnic shelters, and the region’s largest nature play area.

Dinolfo Announces East Side Regional Recycling Collection

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the County’s Department of Environmental Services (DES) is hosting a joint household hazardous waste (HHW), electronic waste and document shredding event in conjunction with the towns of Perinton and Pittsford and the villages of East Rochester, Fairport and Pittsford.

Residents can visit the Ecopark for free compost

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo encouraged residents to pick up free leaf compost at the Ecopark during its normal operating hours. Approximately 20,000 yards of leaves are collected from City residents and the Monroe County Parks system annually, and are available as compost free for County residents (no businesses or professional landscapers).

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, Monroe Fire Bureau Coordinator Steve Schalabba, and Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) President Ken Pienkowski kicked off the 8th annual RecruitNY weekend in Monroe County, part of a statewide effort to increase volunteer fire service participation. The RecruitNY initiative helps increase volunteer firefighter membership and connects local fire stations with the communities they serve.
