Dinolfo Signs Significant New Airport Lease Agreement with Multiple Airlines

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that five major airlines have agreed to a five-year Airline-Airport Use & Lease Agreement to operate at the Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) through December 31, 2023.

“On the heels of our ROC Renovation project, I’m proud to have signed a new long-term lease agreement with these airlines that will ensure travelers have affordable, convenient flight options at our Airport for years to come,” said Dinolfo. “By committing for another five years, the airlines have demonstrated their confidence in our airport and our community as a place to grow and succeed in the days to come. I thank the airlines for their partnership and I look forward to continuing to work with them to attract more visitors, employers and jobs to Monroe County.”

American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Southwest and United Airlines have all agreed to the new Airline-Airport lease agreement with ROC. FedEx Express has also signed the five-year agreement as a cargo operator. Allegiant adheres to the agreement providing service four times a week at ROC and has signed on as a non- signatory carrier under the agreement.

Under the lease agreement, airlines commit to operating from ROC for the next five years. The Airline-Airport Use & Lease Agreement was unanimously approved by the Monroe County Airport Authority and approved with overwhelming bipartisan support by the Monroe County Legislature with a 29-0 vote.

ROC served approximately 2.5 million passengers annually in 2018, up 6% over 2017 and offers an average of 3,500 seats per day to eighteen airport destinations on six major airlines.
