First daily nonstop from ROC to Fort Lauderdale since 2008; airfare as low as $97/one way on select dates
Daily nonstop flights to the beaches of southeast Florida are coming to the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC). Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Spirit Airlines announced today new daily nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale- Hollywood International Airport (FLL) starting August 14, 2024. This is ROC’s first daily nonstop air service to FLL since 2008.
“Florida markets are among the most popular destinations for Monroe County and Finger Lakes region residents. Whether you are planning a family vacation to the beautiful beaches of southeast Florida or looking for an affordable nonstop flight to catch a Caribbean cruise, the addition of Spirit Airlines’ air service to Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport will bring greater access and convenience to Rochester passengers,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello.
Spirit Airlines began operating out of ROC in October 2022 with daily nonstop service to Orlando International Airport (MCO) and has since added seasonal nonstop service to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR). The daily nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale will add over 1200 weekly seats from Rochester to southeast Florida.
Currently, Spirit Airlines is the largest air service carrier operating out of FLL, with great connectivity to Cancun, San Juan, and many other Caribbean and Central American beach destinations. Additionally, Fort Lauderdale provides convenient access to southeast Florida travelers, including Fort Lauderdale-based cruise ships and the Florida Keys.
