The start of Dick’s tenure on the Parma Town Council did not mark the beginning of his efforts to serve his community. Currently a member of the Hilton-Parma Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6105, American Legion Post No. 88, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 20, Dick has been proactive in his community for more than 25 years. He has spent significant time on the Parma Zoning Board of Appeals, and has always taken an active interest in local schools by serving in several capacities for the Hilton Central School District. He was member of several committees including the District Food Service, High School Communication, and Junior High School Steering Committees. Dick also spent over 8 years as a girls’ softball coach for the Hilton-Parma Recreation Department.
Dick draws from his numerous successes in the private sector to aid in decision making for his constituents. He is educated and experienced in a wide array of fields that gives him a uniquely comprehensive perspective when looking at issues that face his community. Dick’s entrepreneurial mindset has served him well in his nearly three decades of success in the private sector, where he has owned and operated several successful businesses, as well as gained experience working for others.
Village Doughnuts is a name well known to residents of the 1st District, a tribute to Dick’s ability to see an opportunity and turn it into long term success as he spent over a quarter century as the owner and operator of multiple units in the area. Dick also spent nearly 15 years as a licensed real estate agent and has accumulated valuable knowledge of the field. Additionally, he has owned and operated Better Hearing Associates, Inc., specializing in consumer sales of hearing aids, as well as Business Match-Ups, Inc., which successfully paired business owners with potential owners or investors.

Dick is an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served in the Special Services Division, and is a Vietnam Veteran as well. He is a lifelong resident of Monroe County, and has called the Town of Parma home for nearly four decades. Dick and his wife Susan have two children, and four grandchildren.
