Brooks Announces Mastro Graphic Arts, Inc. is Business of the Month

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks today announced that Mastro Graphic Arts, Inc. (MGA) has been named Monroe County’s “Business of the Month” and is featured on Monroe County’s website, MGA is a designer and manufacturer of machine graphics.

“Mastro Graphic Arts is one of many small companies here in Monroe County that truly put us on the map,” said Monroe County Executive Brooks. “I am thrilled that they are taking advantage of our newest economic development program, Jobs LoanPlus, and thank them for their continued investment in our local economy.”

MGA was founded in 1972 by Nick Mastrofilippo and is currently owned by his daughter, Rae Mastrofilippo, who has worked for the company since its establishment. MGA designs and produces custom, multi-covered overlays, labels, data plates, control panes, and domed labels for higher-end product lines.

MGA has a diverse customer base that includes several Fortune 500 companies. Their clients include: Harris RF Communications, Carestream, Xerox, ELO Touchsystems, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, Seagate, Carrier, Briggs & Stratton, and Getinge.

“Mastro Graphic Arts is thankful for the opportunity to partner with Monroe County’s Monroe Manufacturers Jobs LoanPlus program. This program, coupled with the RochesterWorks Wired training programs, has enabled MGA to bring on new equipment much faster. As a result of this teamwork, MGA has been able to grow by offering our customers a broader range of goods and services,” said Bill Betteridge, President, Mastro Graphic Arts. “This growth has led to additional jobs at MGA. Keeping Rochester competitive requires strong businesses teaming up with supportive local government and the results will be better jobs for more people in our community.”

MGA occupies a 23,000 square foot manufacturing facility at 67 Deep Rock Road in Rochester and has over 40 employees. The company is purchasing an $830,000 press and utilizing Monroe County’s Monroe Manufactures Jobs LoanPlus program. The program lends companies 10% of the purchase price up to $100,000, at 1% interest. MGA expects to create 4 new jobs as a result of the equipment purchase.
