Dinolfo Provides Update: Oxygen Treatment Available at MCC Shelter, EMS Stations

As part of the ongoing response to continued power outages and rapidly dropping temperatures, Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo is announcing the opening of an emergency shelter at Monroe Community College (MCC). The shelter is a partnership with MCC and the American Red Cross, and will open at 7:00 p.m.

100 beds will be available for those in need. As temperatures continue to drop, emergency personnel expect an additional need for overnight shelter. There is capacity for more beds depending on need. Residents planning on using the shelter should remember to bring their own pillows and blankets.

The shelter will be located in MCC Building 10, the Samuel Stabbins Athletic Building. MCC is located at 1000 East Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623.

It is not necessary to call in advance, however if you need assistance to get to any shelter, please call 911. Transportation is available for residents with medical needs.

Please remember to continue checking on elderly friends and family.
