Dinolfo Announces 2017 Season Of Free Movies in Monroe County Parks

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced the schedule for the County’s “Movies in the Parks” 2017 Summer Season. This year, the Monroe County Department of Parks will host four fun evenings, featuring top motion pictures at Ontario Beach Park and the Highland Park Bowl.

“Our movie nights offer hardworking families the opportunity to enjoy big-screen hit motion pictures, under the stars, in two of our wonderful County Parks,” said County Executive Dinolfo. “The 2017 season will open with a classic summertime favorite, ‘Jaws,’ at Ontario Beach Park and wraps-up at the Highland Park Bowl with the latest installment in the most successful motion picture franchise of all time, ‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.’ Best of all, each of our movies is open to the public and will be shown free of charge.”

MOVIES AT THE BEACH is a FREE outdoor event at Monroe County’s Ontario Beach Park on THURSDAY evening July 6th and FRIDAY evening July 14th. Pre-show fun, featuring movie trivia and prizes, starts at 8:30 pm. Both films will begin at 9:00 p.m. Concessions are available for purchase. The schedule of movies is as follows:
July 6 – Jaws (1975 PG)
July 14 – The LEGO Batman Movie (2017 PG)

MOVIES AT THE BOWL is a FREE outdoor event at the Highland Park Bowl on two SATURDAY evenings, August 19 and 26. Pre-show fun, featuring movie trivia and prizes, starts at 8:30 pm. Both films will begin at 9:00 p.m. Concessions are available for purchase. The schedule of movies is as follows:
August 19 – Beauty and the Beast (2017 PG)
August 26 – Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016 PG-13)

“Three of our four films will be shown on weekend evenings this year, to make it easier for moviegoers of all ages to attend,” said County Parks Director Larry Staub. “You can’t beat the price, it’s FREE. So, whether you’re planning a family movie night or a cheap date, we’ve got you covered this summer!”
