Dinolfo Announces Free Zoo Admission for Veterans, Military During Veterans Week

County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Seneca Park Zoo officials are pleased to announce a special admission offer for veterans and active military in honor of Veterans Week. From Friday, November 10 through Sunday, November 19, all active and veteran military personnel with valid military ID will receive free Zoo admission for themselves and one child (ages 3-11).

“We owe our veterans and active duty troops in uniform a huge debt of gratitude for all they have done to keep America strong and free,” said Dinolfo. “Offering these brave men and women a complementary day at the Zoo is just one small way Monroe County can offer our thanks for their incredible service and sacrifice. In honor of Veterans Day, I thank all of our local veterans, active duty military personnel and their families for their many contributions and I hope they will enjoy a day at the Zoo on us this week.”

Veteran’s Outreach Center Executive Director Laura Stradley said, “Veterans Day is the chance to thank and honor those who have selflessly served their country. Here in Monroe County we are fortunate to have a huge contingency of supporters, including wonderful organizations like the Seneca Park Zoo, who go above and beyond to acknowledge their appreciation for our heroes. We are thankful and humbled by their desire to thank veterans.”

From November 1 through March 31, the Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and grounds remain open until 4 p.m.
