Monroe County Clerk Cheryl Dinolfo today filed a lawsuit against the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles to stop its plan to issue Driver's Licenses to illegal immigrants. Building upon Dinolfo's previous efforts, the lawsuit asks the State Supreme Court to rule that the State DMV is violating Section 502 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law that requires a Social Security Number to obtain a driver's license.

Over $500,000 annually could be kept working here if every vehicle owner in Monroe County participated in the new program. Residents can mail their renewals to the Henrietta DMV Office, use a convenient drop box, or for immediate return of their registration, use an Express Line at any permanent DMV branch. Full details on how to Renew Monroe are available at www.monroecounty.gov and will be mailed to residents over the coming weeks in their Monroe County Water Authority bills.

Dinolfo Announces Enhanced Service For Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing

The Interpretype system consists of instant messaging terminals that allow customers and employees to type questions and answers to each other. Monroe County is the first DMV office in the nation to offer this enhanced service to its customers.
