Description of Duties
This position is responsible for the performance of difficult and complex clerical tasks, requiring independent judgment and decision-making. The use of a personal computer for word processing and database entry and manipulation is an integral part of this position. The work is performed in accordance with general instructions regarding objectives, policies, and procedures. The work is usually submitted in its final form and not subject to detailed or immediate review. The employee is required to use Spanish daily, whether communicating with program administrators, coworkers, or visitors. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a higher-level employee. General supervision may be exercised over a subordinate staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Rochester City School District or the Town of Irondequoit and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twelve (12) months holding the position of Office Clerk III or Office Clerk III Bilingual immediately preceding the date of the written test.
A combination of time served in multiple titles sufficient to meet the maximum period of required service is also qualifying.
