The Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge Opens For Marine Traffic On April 1, 2024

The Monroe County Department of Transportation (DOT) will close the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge (IBOB) to vehicular traffic at 9 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2024. DOT bridge maintenance crews will swing the bridge to open the channel for marine traffic for the 2024 boating season. The IBOB will remain open to marine traffic through Friday, November 1, 2024.

Located at the north end of Irondequoit Bay, the IBOB spans the outlet between Lake Road in the Town of Webster and Culver Road in the Town of Irondequoit. Each fall, the bridge swings into place for vehicular traffic from November 1 to March 31. Each spring, it swings away into storage to open the channel for boaters from April 1 to October 31.
