Forensic Digital Evidence Analyst II
Description of Duties
JOB SUMMARY:
This is a technical position in the Department of Public Safety, County Crime Laboratory responsible for conducting forensic examinations of digital technology including computers and computer media, digital photography, Global Positioning System (GPS) tracks, Automated Teller Machine (ATM) transaction logs, and digital video and audio files for the presence of evidence relating to criminal activity. Duties include preparing and presenting findings in written reports and serving as an expert witness in court. Work involves the use and maintenance of sophisticated modern computer equipment. All work is performed in accordance with Federal and State accreditation requirements and departmental procedure manuals and guidelines. This position differs from Forensic Digital Evidence Analyst III in that it handles complex examinations and cases, and has increased independence. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general direction of, a Forensic Digital Evidence Analyst I or other higher level staff member. Does related work as required.
