Welcome to the Monroe County "Return the F.A.V.O.R." (Find and Assist Veterans of Record) Card Program Website. This program is an initiative between Monroe County and local businesses to recognize and thank our County’s Veterans.
Under the Monroe County "Return the F.A.V.O.R." Card Program, honorably discharged veterans* will be issued a card by the County Clerk that identifies them as a veteran.
Participating County businesses have agreed to honor this card by providing these individuals with discounts on purchases or services, or some other special offer. Individuals in the reserves or currently on active duty will be able to present their military identification cards to participating businesses and will receive these same discounts.
Although this program could never fully acknowledge or thank these individuals for their service and sacrifices made to protect our country, in some small measure it is a way we can demonstrate our appreciation.
*According to US Code Title 38, Chapter 1, a veteran is defined as "a person who served in the active military, naval, or air service, and who was discharged or released therefrom under conditions other than dishonorable." In the same Chapter of the law under section 23, the term active is defined as "full-time duty in the Armed Forces, other than active duty for training."
