Traffic Safety Board Awards

THE MARK TUOHEY, JR. AWARD
This award is presented in memory of Mr. Mark Tuohey, Jr. who worked for the FBI and was Corporate Safety Director for Eastman Kodak Company. He was dedicated to keeping the community in which he resided a safer place and was recognized throughout Western New York for his efforts.

The Mark Tuohey, Jr. Award is presented to an individual(s) for outstanding commitment to the issue of traffic safety within the community. An example of outstanding commitment would include but not be limited to a program or initiative that significantly promotes or affects traffic safety. – OR – An individual who performs significant actions or efforts in the area of traffic safety outside the scope of their normal job-related duties.

JIM POND LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD
The Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to a recipient that exemplifies the commitment to promoting safe roadways and reducing traffic injuries/fatalities in our community over an extended and significant period.

THE COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
The Community Service Award is presented when the recipient has demonstrated an effort beyond the normal course of their job-related responsibilities in preventing traffic-related injuries/fatalities.

THE CERTIFICATE OF MERIT
A Certificate of Merit is presented when a member of their joint agency recognizes recipient’s efforts in the area of traffic safety.

STOP-DWI Awards

“TOP COP” AWARD
The Top Cop award is presented to a Monroe County law enforcement officer who exemplifies a superior and well-rounded commitment to DWI prevention through education, arrests and training.

CERTIFICATES OF APPRECIATION
A Certificate of Appreciation is presented to officers chosen by their departments for their commitment to the prevention of impaired driving.

LEADERSHIP AWARD
This award is presented to a leader within an agency who continuously exemplifies a superior commitment to the work of DWI prevention and has strived toward unique ways to motivate fellow officers in this work.
