Cross-Systems Convening & Action
We are focused on concrete action to urgently address the unacceptable fact that children and youth are boarding in hospitals, languishing on waitlists, sitting in detention, and entering the child welfare system due to a lack of access to the right care at the right time. The dearth of meaningful and available services in Monroe County and across the region for youth with complex intellectual, behavioral, and/or mental health needs presents significant challenges to safe placement, effective education, skills development, and family support. Join your fellow lawmakers, agency leaders, service providers, advocates, parents, and other community partners from across the Western Region and Albany in this sprint to solutions as we learn from other state examples, assess the issues, commit to shared next steps, and begin to transform the policy and practice infrastructure to improve the experiences and outcomes for youth and families with unmet complex needs.
