Community Development Specialist
Description of Duties
This position, located in the Department of Planning and Development, is responsible for administering projects funded by federal and state grant programs. Duties include outreach activities, providing assistance to sub-grantees, monitoring compliance and related analysis, and research duties. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Community Development Manager or other higher level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in community development for a government agency; residential or commercial construction or rehabilitation; building or construction inspection; or government grant development, analysis or monitoring for compliance; OR,
(B) Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as stated in (A) above; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
