Description of Duties
This is a senior-level professional nursing position responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring nursing education and orientation programs at Monroe Community Hospital. Responsibility also involves directing the facility’s wound care program. This classification differs from the lower, Clinical Instructor in its responsibility for staff supervision and expanded scope. Work is conducted in accordance with mandatory education requirements and current nursing practices. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of an administrative-level staff member. General supervision is exercised over a subordinate staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
EITHER:
- Five (5) years paid full time or its part time equivalent* experience as a Registered Professional Nurse, one (1) year of which must have involved nursing education; OR,
- Five (5) years paid full time or its part time equivalent* experience responsible for developing and conducting nursing education programs;
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, plus one (1) year paid full time or its part time equivalent* experience in nursing education; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
