Description of Duties
This is a paraprofessional position responsible for assisting Assistant District Attorneys by opening cases and completing discovery requirements. May also involve reviewing cases, including procuring court documents, filing, preliminary case preparation and notation of recommendations and legal action. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, a Senior Criminal Law Assistant or other administrative staff member. An Assistant District Attorney may provide direction on individual cases. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus:
(A) Graduation with a Bachelor's degree; OR,
(B) Graduation with an Associate’s degree plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in paralegal or legal assistant work; OR,
(C) Possession of a certificate of completion in Paralegal Studies, or closely-related field; OR,
(D) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
