Traffic Engineering Technician
Description of Duties
This is an entry-level technical position in the Department of Transportation responsible for assisting engineering and higher-level technical staff in performing field and office investigative and survey work. This title differs from the Senior Traffic Engineering Technician by its emphasis on data collecting and recording and its limited responsibility for the analysis and recommendations placed on that data. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a Principal or Senior Traffic Engineering Technician.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the non-competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Transportation and must have served continuously on a permanent basis for twenty-four (24) months holding the position of Highway Maintenance Mechanic I or Highway Maintenance Mechanic II immediately preceding the date of the written test.
A combination of time served in multiple titles sufficient to meet the maximum period of required service is also qualifying.
