Hospital Administrator Intern
Description of Duties
This is an administrative-level internship position responsible for providing assistance to the Deputy and Executive Health Director at Monroe Community Hospital, while completing the required courses to achieve a New York State Nursing Home Administrator’s license. This position will develop and acquire supervisory responsibility for resident/patient care while participating in daily management decisions. Employees in this position completing the field experience requirement must not exceed a period of two (2) years and six (6) months from appointment, or be removed from this position. The employee reports directly to and works under the direct supervision of the Executive Health Director or other higher-level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- Graduation with a Master's degree in Health Administration or a healthcare-related field; OR,
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree in Health Administration or a healthcare-related field, plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* clinical experience; OR,
- Graduation with a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* clinical experience; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
NOTE: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
