Confidential Assistant to the County Attorney
Description of Duties
This is a non-legal staff position in the County Attorney’s Office which involves office management, financial records management, general administration, purchasing and personnel operations which allows the County Attorney opportunity to execute more substantive duties. This work is confidential in nature. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the County Attorney. General supervision is exercised over clerical staff. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma; PLUS:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree, PLUS two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in business or government as an office manager or professional* experience in budget preparation or personnel related activities, one (1) year of which shall have been in supervisory capacity; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college with an Associate’s degree, PLUS four (4) years of experience as described in (A) above, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity, OR;
(C) Six (6) years of experience as described in (A) above, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory capacity; OR,
(D) Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B) and (C) above.
*Professional experience does NOT include clerical or secretarial experience.
