Infection Control Nurse, prov.
Description of Duties
This is a professional nursing position, located at Monroe Community Hospital, responsible for the development and implementation of procedures for infection control. Duties involve monitoring hospital procedures to isolate and control incidences of infection, and correcting and instructing medical and services staff in the prevention and avoidance of sources of infection. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Nursing Administrator or other higher-level staff member with wide latitude allowed for independent judgment and decision making. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in Nursing plus four (4) years paid full time or its part time equivalent experience in professional nursing or epidemiology, six (6) months of which must have been in infection control.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
