Supervising Rehabilitation Counselor
Description of Duties
This position, located in the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, is responsible for assisting the Director of Inmate Drug and Alcohol Treatment Programs in the development, implementation, and coordination of rehabilitation programs in the Monroe County Jail and Correctional Facility including academic instruction, alcohol and drug counseling, vocational training, and re-entry programs. The incumbent is a voting member of the work release/furlough committee, and coordinates Incarcerated Individual Work Programs. The incumbent provides general supervision to professional staff in the Rehabilitation Unit.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class in the Monroe County Office of the Sheriff and must have served continuously for twelve (12) months holding the position of Drug and Alcohol Counselor or Rehabilitation Counselor immediately preceding the date of the written test. Provisional time served immediately before a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.
A combination of time served in multiple titles sufficient to meet the maximum period of required service is also qualifying.
