Although it is a #6 plastic, Styrofoam (expanded polystyrene) is NOT accepted for curbside recycling. Non-expanded polystyrene (CD & DVD cases, etc.) IS accepted for curbside recycling. Styrofoam meat trays, egg cartons, coffee cups, takeout containers or other small post-consumer items have no local recycling option and should be placed in your trash.
Clean, white packing Styrofoam (#6 only) (like appliance or electronic component packaging) is accepted for recycling at ecopark during regular collection hours. Clean, white packing peanuts (contained in plastic bags) will also be accepted (see below for other colors). Styrofoam must not be dirty, not be any color but white, and not have any tape or stickers attached.
