Public Defender Assistant Grade II (Family Court)
Description of Duties
This is a Family Court attorney position located in the Public Defender’s Office. Responsibilities involve legal representation of indigent persons entitled to public defense in the family courts of Monroe County. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Special Assistant Public Defender in charge of family court representation. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
1. The Public Defender Assistant II shall be an attorney duly licensed to practice law in the State of New York and admitted to practice in all courts within the scope of the plan.
2. The Public Defender Assistant II would have at least (3) years of experience in litigating family law cases.
3. The Public Defender Assistant II must have an ability to work with the judges, lawyers, court administrators, other persons within the court system, and court officials.
