Senior Signal Mechanic

Description of Duties
This is a skilled mechanic position involving the performance of electrical construction work related to installing or servicing traffic signals and related equipment. The employee will be assigned shift work. The employee reports directly to and works under general supervision of the Signal Foreman. Direct supervision may be exercised over mechanics and laborers. Work is performed under a variety of conditions such as changing weather, confined space (manholes), and heights. Does related work as required.
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus two (2) years of paid full‑time or its part‑time equivalent experience in traffic signal or electrical construction with an outside line, signal electrical contractor, an electrical service, or a communication organization.*
*NOTE: Experience must have involved outdoor line or signal electrical work. Residential electrical wiring is not appropriate qualifying experience for this position. Telephone or cable TV experience is acceptable if it involved cable installation as well as testing and troubleshooting of circuits.
