Description of Duties
This position located at the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), is responsible for developing, overseeing, and providing MCSO Health and Wellness program activities. Duties involve directing Officer Wellness Clinicians in the delivery of health and wellness services to Sworn and Civilian Staff of the MCSO. The Director will work closely with the staff in the Jail, Police, Court, Civil, and Staff Services bureaus to implement officer wellness services and programming. This employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of Undersheriff or other higher-level staff member. General supervision is exercised over Officer Wellness Clinicians.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Master’s degree in Social Work or a mental health counseling, clinical mental health counseling, or psychology field plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience providing direct client mental health counseling services involving individual or group therapy; OR,
(B) Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above plus six (6) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience providing direct client mental health counseling services involving individual or group therapy; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
Special Requirements:
Candidates will be required to pass a pre-employment drug test for employment with Monroe County Government.
