Motor Equipment Operator I

Description of Duties
This is a senior level position requiring the safe and efficient operation of medium and heavy equipment such as small and large trucks, dump trucks and trailers, bulldozers, payloaders, backhoes and graders. The work involves maintenance of diesel and gas powered motor equipment. The employee performs a variety of manual labor tasks. The Motor Equipment Operator I differs from Motor Equipment Operator by its responsibility for operating and maintaining heavy equipment on a regular basis. General supervision is received from a higher level employee. General supervision may be exercised over other equipment operators and laborers. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in the operation of medium and heavy trucks and motor equipment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New York State Class *A* Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
