Description of Duties

This is a supervisory position in the Monroe County Department of Parks responsible for oversight, coordination, and scheduling of the Support Services Division, as well as heavy equipment operation, and material and equipment hauling.  Work is performed in close cooperation with the Assistant Superintendent of Park Facilities.  The work involves coordinating vehicle and equipment maintenance, site and roadwork construction, and building and construction related site excavation.  This position is responsible for the maintenance of permits and reports associated with waste hauling.  The employee will be required to complete a ten (10) hour OSHA Outreach Training Program within the first twelve (12) weeks of employment.  Employees who do not successfully complete the ten (10) hour OSHA Outreach Training Program will be removed from the position.  Direct supervision is exercised over maintenance staff and equipment operators.  The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of the Assistant Superintendent of Park Facilities or other higher level staff member.  Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in construction, building maintenance and repair, or in the operation of maintenance and motor equipment, all of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New York State Class *A* Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).  The employee must complete a ten (10) hour OSHA Outreach Training Program within the first twelve (12) weeks of employment.
