Project Engineer - Water Distribution
Description of Duties
This is an engineering position involving participating in the design and construction of water supply facilities. The employee reports directly to, and works under general supervision of, a senior-level engineering staff member. Leeway is allowed for in the exercise of independent judgment and the application of professional engineering standards. The position regularly requires field work at construction job sites. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate staff or the employee may direct the work of technical and other support staff for specific assigned projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam:
Graduation from a regionally or New York State accredited college or university with an Associate's degree in Sanitary or Civil Engineering plus EITHER:
- Four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience in Civil, Sanitary, Construction Engineering/Technology, or Design; OR,
- Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Sanitary, Construction Engineering/Technology, plus two (2) years experience as defined in (A) above; OR,
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
