Description of Duties

This is a high level management position in the Monroe County Department of Parks responsible for directing and performing a multitude of administrative tasks.  Duties include directing the department’s budgetary and fiscal activities, overseeing department expenditures, administering contract referrals, operating agreements, formulating related policy and procedure, and disseminating information.  The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Parks or other higher level staff member.  General supervision is exercised over professional, clerical and other parks personnel. 

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam: 

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or a communications or a parks administration field PLUS five (5) years paid full time or its part time equivalent* experience involving financial management, budgeting, accounting, program creation and coordination, or public relations or communications that involved the writing of reports or documents.
