Assistant Environmental Laboratory Technical Manager
Description of Duties
This is an administrative position responsible for performing a variety of complex tasks that assist in the planning, coordinating, and managing the implementation, maintenance and adherence to the Public Safety Department’s security system’s improvement project at the Monitoring Reaction Center (MRC) operations. The position is responsible for applying the technology tools available through Geographic Information Systems (GIS) toward the maintenance and development of critical technical infrastructure of fiber network operations specific to fire, security and video systems. This position differs from the lower Senior Manager of Operations – GIS by virtue of its administrative responsibility for managing Monroe County’s computerized security software systems. Duties include overseeing contracted dispatchers. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Public Safety or other higher level staff member with wide latitude allowed for independent judgment.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Environmental Services and must have served continuously for twelve (12) months holding the position of Environmental Chemist I immediately preceding the date of the written test. Provisional time served immediately before a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.
