Leisure Service Aide, Part-Time
Description of Duties
This is an entry-level recreational position in Monroe Community Hospital's Resident Program division responsible for assisting with the implementation of recreation programs. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a senior-level staff member. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Six (6) months paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience providing activities or recreation services in EITHER: a health care facility, or a nursing home, or a residential facility serving people with physical disabilities, or any setting serving people with special medical needs; OR,
(B) Satisfactory completion of fifteen (15) semester credit hours in Recreation, Gerontology, Music Therapy, Art Therapy, Dance Therapy, or a closely related field at a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
