Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today announced that public swimming at Ontario Beach Park will open for the 2025 season on Friday, June 20. Additionally, the accessible spray park at Ontario Beach Park will open on Thursday, June 19.
“Ontario Beach is one of our community’s most beloved summer destinations—offering families a fun and free way to cool off and enjoy the beautiful shoreline of Lake Ontario. I encourage everyone to come out, take advantage of the lifeguarded swim area and our accessible spray park, and make the most of all our park has to offer this summer,” said County Executive Bello.
Beginning Friday, June 20, swimming is permitted seven days a week from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. through Labor Day. Swimming is prohibited when lifeguards are not on duty. Free swim lessons are available for ages 5 and up by appointment. Please call (585) 753-PARK to make an appointment.
For water conditions, and to ensure the beach is open for swimming, call (585) 753-5887.
The spray park is free to use and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with extended hours from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on days of excessive heat.
Ontario Beach Park features an inclusive playground, the historic Dentzel Carousel, restroom facilities, and changing rooms that are open to the public. The park also has an accessible mat that can be used by anyone who utilizes a wheelchair, walker, wagon or stroller. The mat is located immediately east of the Roger Robach Community Center, where existing sidewalks and ramps allow for ADA accessibility.
Ontario Beach Park is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the northernmost section of the City of Rochester near the Irondequoit border. The park is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
