Please see the statement below from Andy Moore, Airport Director at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport:
“Spirit Airlines will no longer operate at Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) after January 7, 2026 as a result of their recent bankruptcy filing. The airline is in Chapter 11 for the second time in less than a year and is ending operations in several airports around the country. While disappointed, we wish Spirit well as they address their financial situation. As a reminder ROC still offers two nonstop flights to Orlando-MCO every Saturday on Southwest Airlines. Starting in January 2026, Southwest will provide daily flights to Orlando-MCO. In addition, Avelo Airlines provides multiple flights per week to Lakeland/Orlando. ROC remains committed to working with our current airline partners to recruit and secure additional nonstop service to the Orlando area."
