Additional at-home test kits soon available at Monroe County Libraries

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello today announced that several county-run COVID-19 testing sites will cease operation effective March 1 and home rapid test kits will be available to the public for free at participating Monroe County Libraries starting February 28.

“With our COVID case numbers steadily declining over the past month and free vaccines and boosters more widely available, it’s clear we are in a new stage of this pandemic,” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “Our focus now is on making home testing more accessible by partnering with the library system that reaches every corner of the county.”

Monroe County Public Libraries Director Patty Uttaro said:

“The public libraries in Monroe County are happy to support County Executive Bello, municipalities and our community members by distributing these important COVID rapid test kits to county residents. With more 3 million visits a year, Monroe County libraries are natural partners for community distributions.”

County-run antigen testing sites will now be limited to the times and location below:

  • 804 North Goodman Street
    Monday, Wednesday, Friday–4p.m.-7p.m.

While most libraries are participating in the test kit distribution, libraries in the following communities will not participate in the rapid test distribution: Greece, Parma, Chili, East Rochester, Webster, Hamlin and Scottsville.
