Pharmaceutical Collections
Monroe County DES pharmaceutical waste collections provide a safe and proper way to dispose of unused or unwanted medications. This service is FREE to residents. The ecopark and local police stations accept pharmaceutical waste at the regularly scheduled times and locations listed below. Monroe County also holds collections three times per year at selected Wegmans pharmacies.

Syringes/Sharps
Syringes/sharps must be in approved sharps containers or sturdy alternatives (two liter plastic bottles, rugged laundry soap bottles, etc.). All containers should be capped and labeled "SHARPS" Sharps should NEVER be placed in a curbside recycling bin.
Syringes/sharps can also be dropped off at local hospitals and nursing homes. Click here for more info and drop off locations
