Description of Duties
This position, located at the Monroe County Veterans Service Agency, is responsible for acting as a liaison between veterans who are eligible to participate in the Veterans Court program, criminal justice system personnel, and non-profit community partners. The Veterans Court program is an alternative to incarceration for veterans who suffer from mental health and/or substance use disorder. Veterans must volunteer for this program, and if accepted, attend a prescribed specialized treatment program. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of the Director of Veterans Service Agency or other higher-level staff member.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent* experience in the military, or in an advisory or advocacy capacity, or case management, or interviewing veterans and/or their families, or processing claims for veterans.
