Principal Software Developer, prov.
Description of Duties
This position is responsible for researching, designing, implementing and testing software for Monroe County government. Duties involve being responsible for the larger software development process including working with multiple parts of the software, planning how users will interact with it and how other applications will interface with it, and what is required to have the software run smoothly. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of an Administrator or higher-level staff member. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in an information technology or computer science field plus five (5) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in computer programming, system analysis, system design or system development; OR,
(B) Graduation with an Associate’s degree in an information technology or computer science field plus seven (7) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in computer programming, system analysis, system design or system development; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
