Description of Duties

This administrative position develops strategies and provides guidance to meet evidence-based and evidence-informed research goals for Monroe County, community stakeholders and the Research Strategy and Development Division. This employee supports the creation and documentation of office processes to maximize efficiency and increase research capacity. This employee is also responsible for developing and maintaining on-going relationships with mission-driven research and funding agencies at the local, state and federal level. Employee reports to Director of Research Strategy and Development, or other higher-level staff member. General supervision is exercised over research staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements on or before the date of the written exam: 

Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma plus, EITHER:

  1. Graduation with a doctorate, plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** professional* experience in an educational, public welfare or public health setting involving quantitative and qualitative research; OR,
  2. Graduation with a Master’s degree plus three (3) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent** professional* experience as outlined in (A) above; OR,
  3. An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.

*Professional experience for the purposes of these minimum qualifications, does not include secretarial/clerical or similar experience.
