Description of Duties

This is an administrative position responsible for assisting the Director of Information Services with general business operations such as planning, organizing, and managing enterprise projects as well as providing overall supervision to the Department of Information Services for Monroe County.  Duties also include assisting the Director with providing efficient and effective service delivery to user departments, for resource management, and for design and refinement of computer systems and operating methods.  The employee reports directly to and works under the general direction of the Director of Information Services.  General supervision is exercised over operations, programming, and systems personnel.  Does related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Thorough knowledge of organizational and management principles and practices; thorough knowledge of governmental operations and organization; good knowledge of principles and practices of systems analysis, design, and implementation; good knowledge of computer applications and uses; good knowledge of programming methods and terminology; good knowledge of computers and related systems; good knowledge of the programming language appropriate to the installation; administrative ability; ability to supervise professional and technical operations, programming, and systems staff; ability to assist with the preparation and administration of a budget; ability to prepare written materials and reports; ability to manage resources; ability to deal effectively with professional and technical staff, user departments, and the public; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; good judgment; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.
