Life and Career Development Specialist
Description of Duties
This is a professional position responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of a life and career development program for employees of a department of agency. Duties include working with employees and managers to ensure employee success through counseling, coaching, community outreach, and resource navigation. The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of a Principal Personnel Analyst or other higher-level staff member. General supervision maybe exercised over professional and clerical employees. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
PROPOSED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
- Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Health Services, or a human services field** plus two (2) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience in employee or job development, personnel or public administration or healthcare; OR,
- Graduation with an Associate’s degree in one of the fields mentioned in (A) above, plus four (4) years paid full-time or its part-time equivalent experience as defined in (A) above; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
**Human services field includes, but is not limited to, degrees in Social Work, Social Welfare, Vocational and Psychological Counseling, Educational Psychology, or other professions working to enhance and increase the well-being of our society and of the individuals it comprises.
