Senior Associate Planner
Description of Duties
This is a professional and administrative position in the Monroe County Department of Planning and Development responsible for supervising and managing major planning projects as directed by the County Executive and County Legislature. The work involves representing the County on various county and city planning boards as well as coordinating activities with city, state, federal, county, and town agencies. This position is distinguished from the lower, Associate Planner, by virtue of the expanded scope and accountability. The employee reports directly to, and works under general supervision from the Director of Planning and Development. General supervision is exercised over a professional, technical, and clerical planning staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must be permanently employed in the competitive class at the Monroe County Department of Planning & Development and must have served continuously for twelve (12) months holding the position of Senior Planner immediately preceding the date of the written test. Provisional time served immediately before a permanent appointment to the same title(s) will be credited.
