Radiological and Chemical Officer, prov. - Office of Emergency Management
Description of Duties
This is an administrative and technical position responsible for planning and directing a County‑wide radiological and chemical defense service for response to radiological and/or chemical agent emergencies caused by accidental or intentional release. Work is performed under general supervision of the Deputy Director of Public Safety. Supervision may be exercised over County staff and/or volunteer personnel. Does related work as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma, plus EITHER:
(A) Graduation with a Bachelor's degree in the natural, physical, or biological sciences, emergency management, or homeland security; OR,
(B) Graduation with an Associate’s degree in the natural, physical, or biological sciences, emergency management, or homeland security, plus two (2) years paid full-time or it’s part-time equivalent experience involving emergency services, public safety program planning, development, implementation and review, or developing and writing emergency response plans, all of which must have been in a government agency, military service, or private organization; OR,
(C) An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
