Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Seneca Park Zoo officials are excited to announce the arrival of a male southern white rhino named Jiwe (pronounced Gee-way).  Jiwe was born in December, 2016 at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Texas.

Alyssa Tallo has been named Executive Director for MCH, where she had served as its Deputy Director since 2019 and as Acting Executive Director since May of 2020. Desmond Jackson will join Tallo at Monroe Community Hospital as Deputy Executive Director. He comes to MCH from Clifton Springs Nursing Home where he was an Assistant Administrator.

COVID-19 Information & Testing

COVID-19 RESOURCES & DAILY UPDATES Find a Test Site

Testing is available to all New Yorkers statewide. You do not need to be symptomatic or an essential worker to get a test.

Test sites run by New York State are free. The state runs a test site at Monroe Community College. Test sites operated by private companies (pharmacies, medical practices, not-for-profits) may charge fees. you are advised to check with the testing site and your insurer in advance of being tested.

Public Notice

A public hearing will be held on October 29 at 3pm on a proposed local law, "AMENDING THE MONROE COUNTY CHARTER TO CREATE A DEPARTMENT OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION.” Check back here at the time of the hearing for a link to the video stream.
