Description of Duties

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a managerial technical position located in the Department of Public Health, Medical Examiner’s Office, responsible for directing the operations of the American Board of Forensic Toxicology (ABFT) accredited regional forensic toxicology laboratory.  Duties include representing the laboratory on various New York State and Monroe County committees and advisory groups and serves as a resource for the local law enforcement and criminal justice communities regarding toxicology related issues.  The employee reports directly to, and works under the general supervision of, the Medical Examiner or other higher level staff member.  Does related work as required.
