Dinolfo Hosts American Red Cross Blood Drive

Dinolfo Hosts American Red Cross Blood Drive

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo will be sponsoring an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Wednesday, July 13th in the County Office Building Atrium, located at 39 West Main Street in Downtown Rochester.  The drive will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

“At the heart of any crisis or tragedy across the country you will find the American Red Cross, providing and caring for those who are in need of blood donations,” said Dinolfo “Here in Monroe County we recognize the importance of supporting this incredible organization and encourage all eligible donors to make an appointment and help save the lives of those who are in critical need.”

Earlier this week the American Red Cross issued an emergency appeal encouraging blood and platelet donors to give as soon as possible.  Dinolfo hopes those within our community who are eligible will consider donating, especially with this most recent emergency appeal.

This event is open to the public and donors are encouraged to make an appointment by contacting Delaine George at (585)753-2006. Walk-ins will also be accepted throughout the day. Those wishing to donate can save time by using RapidPass to complete the pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of donation, prior to arriving at the blood drive. Anyone who is able to make a donation is encouraged to take this opportunity to donate to help prevent a summer blood shortage. If you have previously donated blood, it must have been on or before May 18th, 2016 to be eligible for this drive.
