Dinolfo Announces Free, One-Day Airshow

Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced that the Canadian Forces Snowbirds aerobatic team will visit the Greater Rochester International Airport for a one-day, free admission airshow event to be held on Wednesday, May 17th, 2017.

“We are thrilled to be chosen as one of a handful of North American cities to host airshows celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Canadian Confederation,” said Dinolfo. “The Canadian Snowbirds aerial performance will be a spectacular family event for our community to come out and celebrate our great neighbors to the north.”

The one-day, free admission event will include aircraft static displays and program collaboration with Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) curriculum for area school participation, ground exhibits, local food vendors and more.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds were last featured at the 2009 Air & Water show held at Ontario Beach.  This will be the second time Monroe County has hosted the team.

The Canadian Forces (CF) Snowbirds, 431 Air Demonstration Squadron are a Canadian icon comprised of Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members and National Defence Public Service employees. They are stationed at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and fly the Canadair CT-114 Tutor Aircraft.
